Do we wneed a police state to feel safe

The Seattle PD and other police agencys serve and protect them selves. hide the the bad apples in the ranks. they get away with it because we the people allow it. we read the news on line and text back and forth on our cell phone drink our starbucks and go to work for the MAN. “Every thing is under control folks” go about your busness”. “We made a little Mistake”. In my opininion that pig killed a part of me, part of the real Art community far away from the gallerys of the MAN. A few hundred showed up in protest to smash the barracades a small voice of out rage Agenst the swat and heat vans of the MAN. Only a few becase the rest of us are to old now for fighting in the street. The rest of you were to busy sipping star bucks playing with your toys and admireing Sara’s butt to even care…

Lithium is used for batteries, specialty glass, lubricants, pharmaceuticals and lithium alloys. Lithium ion (Li-ion) batteries have become the rechargeable battery of choice in cell phones, computers, hybrid-electric cars and electric cars. Demand for lithium carbonate is expected to increase four-fold over the next decade as production of lithium-ion battery-powered hybrid-electric and electric cars rises. GM, Ford, Toyota, Dodge, Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Tesla, Saturn and Mercedes-Benz have all announced plans to build Li-ion battery-powered cars and the demand for such vehicles is currently expected to increase five-fold by 2012. Hey this is good news I think; we should receive some kind of stimulus; turn in your old car, get a new electric car and start eliminating our oil addiction. WAIT! Where does lithium come from? The Deepwater Horizon oil spill is the largest offshore spill in U.S. history with hundreds of millions of gallons pouring into the gulf of Mexico. The spill stemmed from a sea-floor gusher that resulted from the April 20, 2010 Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion. The explosion killed 11 platform workers and injured 17 others. On July 15, 2010, the leak Was stopped by capping the gushing oil near the broken wellhead.although there is today July 26 oil seeping from the sea floor around the well and a risk that a significant pressure shift could create a new leak on the sea floo^r.The drilling of relief wells to permanently close the well is ongoing. President Obama temporarily halted all drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet on May 27 to give a presidential commission time to study improvements in the safety of offshore operations.Gov. Bobby Jindal and a stream of speakers blasted the six-month moratorium declared after BP’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. and More than a dozen Louisiana offshore service and supply companies sued U.S. regulators to lift the ban.U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman yesterday granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. In addition to the deepwater moratorium, Jindal said state Department of Natural Resources data shows permits for shallow water drilling has slowed since the spill began.

“It’s ironic that the only drilling going on is BP,” Jindal said, referring to relief wells the company is drilling at the spill site.

Despite the rhetoric, industry experts say a feared exodus of deepwater rigs from the Gulf hasn’t yet materialized, and that the business would quickly rebound once the ban is off. The offshore petroleum industry and companies that serve it use about 100,000 people in Louisiana,

So here we are Big Petroleum Wins for the sake of those 100.ooo job and BP profits we have put the entire world environment at risk I have issues with that, don’t we depend on the sea’s for the air we breath how much will oil slicks and films effect the exchange that exchange between sea and atmosphere. What about the millions of birds and fish the gulf aqua culture what is their loss worth, how about those fishermen.

Nope can’t buy this one. Why do they need it?, I thought Bp was going to hire the fishermen That BP’s stupidity put out of business they all live around the gulf don’t they. BP would like to control them leave no room for the press to get the story on BP cost cutting and bungling. I am Sorry but but any one who worked on the rig and knew about the safety and environmental issue’s and didn’t blow the whistle should be out of work they cared nothing about other peoples losses. We need to get away from this fossil fuel crap quickly but we can’t because there are no alternatives in place because the oil company’s spend big dollars to keep us running to the gas pumps…

I could not find a I 1068 petition anywhere in the town I live in so I took a run to Seattle found and signed the petition in a friendly white center joint called BIG AL’s, a good place to drink good beer too. My camera lies like a oil company president about the date of this picture. It was Jun 9 2010 northbound I 5 in the Skagit Valley WA. The scene Matches my mood generated by the events in the gulf of Mexico. Will we continue this insanity, drilling deep into the seabed a mile below the surface A little like playing chicken with semi trucks. Now the guts of the planet pour into the sea, covering the surface with a thin film suffocating the lungs of the planet The oil Vip,s and scientists spray dispersant another million gallons or so the oil breaks up and sinks out of sight out of mind until the mix lies on the clean white sand and the vapors rise, slow death to even the high flying birds…

It’s always cool to blame the government, BP deserves lots of blame but the big gorilla is sitting in our cars and jet airliners, that gorilla is our use of petroleum. That’s the gorilla we ignore. I don’t hear anything by any news media or talk show about cutting or use of oil and that’s the big story no one wants to tell or hear because it means we all have to take action and loose our petroleum addiction, if we don’t the spills will happen over and over eventually killing the planet…

We need broad sweeping change If we can’t trust the police what good are they to us. Get rid of the flakes and punks they need to know if they step out of line they go down the road. Applicants for police officer should be screened with psychological testing and back ground checks and we need to make sure police academy instructors have no race or class hatred, police need to work with compassion. Hey I understand the job can be ugly but then every police officer chose the job. Every officer should look at his or her reasons for choosing that carrier and if it’s because of any kind of tough guy or cowboy image then forget about it you know, it’s not what we need. If America becomes a police state America is lost…

Both of my parents came from immigrant family’s each from different hemispheres of the planet past the colossus through the golden door and across the land to the American west. The family’s came from Sweden and Italy for better lives, yearning to be free. thier hands helped build the city and neighborhood I grew up In. One hundred and twenty years since the family’s landed in America I am one of the elder’s, I have lived the life those emigrants worked so hard to get for me. I am a citizen so there are no laws that can require me to carry ID; “have paper’s”. No one will ask me for papers because I fit the profile of a average senior citizen, if I had brown or black skin I would have to Worry about being stopped. So what ever happened to “Give me your tired, your poor”’, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” Is America full ; no room at the inn. The State of Arizona is saying no room at the inn for “illegal aliens” passing a law that allows law enforcement to stop and detain anyone suspected of being an “illegal alien”. What is an illegal alien ? how do you tell if an alien is “illegal” any dark skin person with no papers. Come on that so stinks of racism, that can’t be a law in America because its UNAMERICAN!!!. Yes we need immigration reform but not a police state. I think anyone who wants to be an American should be allowed to become an American but then must take on the responsibility of being an American, race must not be a factor
