Do we wneed a police state to feel safe

The Seattle PD and other police agencys serve and protect them selves. hide the the bad apples in the ranks. they get away with it because we the people allow it. we read the news on line and text back and forth on our cell phone drink our starbucks and go to work for the MAN. “Every thing is under control folks” go about your busness”. “We made a little Mistake”. In my opininion that pig killed a part of me, part of the real Art community far away from the gallerys of the MAN. A few hundred showed up in protest to smash the barracades a small voice of out rage Agenst the swat and heat vans of the MAN. Only a few becase the rest of us are to old now for fighting in the street. The rest of you were to busy sipping star bucks playing with your toys and admireing Sara’s butt to even care…

The Deepwater Horizon oil spill is the largest offshore spill in U.S. history  with hundreds of millions of gallons pouring into the gulf of Mexico. The spill stemmed from a sea-floor gusher that resulted from the April 20, 2010 Deepwater Horizon drilling rig explosion. The explosion killed 11 platform workers and injured 17 others. On July 15, 2010, the leak Was stopped by capping the gushing oil near the broken wellhead.although  there is today July 26 oil seeping from the sea floor around the well and a risk that a significant pressure shift could create a new leak on the sea floor. The drilling of relief wells to permanently close the well is ongoing.  President  Obama temporarily halted all drilling in waters deeper than 500 feet on May 27 to give a presidential commission time to study improvements in the safety of offshore operations.Gov. Bobby Jindal and a stream of speakers blasted the six-month moratorium declared after BP’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  and More than a dozen Louisiana offshore service and supply companies sued U.S. regulators to lift the ban.U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman yesterday granted a preliminary injunction, halting the moratorium. He also “immediately prohibited” the U.S. from enforcing the ban. The U.S. said it will appeal

T-shirts with slogans like “Drill Baby Drill” and “No Moratorium” were common sights Wednesday as thousands of people rallied against the federal moratorium on deepwater oil and gas drilling

The “Rally for Economic Survival,” orchestrated by a coalition of business organizations, was set in the heart of Louisiana’s oil patch, where thousands of jobs are tied to oil companies or companies that serve them.

“The president is not very popular around here these days,” said Dustin Hebert, 52, who works for a company that finishes pipe used on the rigs. “We are losing business, and we can’t make any plans for next year or the year after.”

Jindal recounted a conversation with Obama in which he said the president told him BP would pay claims for those left unemployed by the spill, or could apply for unemployment benefits. The remark drew sustained boos.

In addition to the deepwater moratorium, Jindal said state Department of Natural Resources data shows permits for shallow water drilling has slowed since the spill began.

“It’s ironic that the only drilling going on is BP,” Jindal said, referring to relief wells the company is drilling at the spill site.

Despite the rhetoric, industry experts say a feared exodus of deepwater rigs from the Gulf hasn’t yet materialized, and that the business would quickly rebound once the ban is off. The offshore petroleum industry and companies that serve it use about 100,000 people in Louisiana,

So here we are Big Petroleum Wins for the sake of those 100.ooo job and BP profits we have put the entire world environment at risk I have issues with that, don’t we depend on the sea’s for the air we breath how much will oil slicks and films effect the exchange that exchange between sea and atmosphere. What about the millions of birds and fish the gulf aqua culture what is their loss worth, how about those fishermen.

GOOD LUCK PLANET EARTH!!!

Hunt Oil

Ray L Hunt

Encouraged by the North Sea discovery (the company had again found oil in an area others had passed over), Hunt Oil decided to further expand its search for new opportunities abroad. This led Hunt to the Republic of Yemen, an ancient nation with rugged geography believed by most to be devoid of oil despite its location on the oil-rich Arabian Peninsula. In 1981, Hunt Oil Company signed a production sharing agreement with the government of Yemen and began operations. The only active oil company in the region, Hunt discovered a major oil field in 1984. The company subsequently constructed a 423-kilometer (263-mile) pipeline across harsh mountains to the Red Sea, and Yemen joined the ranks of oil exporting countries reaching production levels in excess of 150,000 barrels per day. Large reserves of natural gas, estimated at 10 trillion cubic feet, have also been discovered.

I have a hard time swallowing this whole war on terrorism load the media is shoveling out to us, is it about religion?. Religion has been used all through history to arouse the masses. Why is the media calling bombers and agents from the middle east that come here terrorists but the bombers and agents we send to the mid east are soldiers, the media is selling real hate here. Americans are hated because we support rich people who sell the resources (oil) of their country to America and only the wealthy people of the oil rich country profit the majority poor owners of the oil get nothing our big jet liners suck up most of the oil so they make wonderful targets. We don’t get it,we don’t need body searches at the air ports we need to rethink our foreign policy.

He hasn’t even taken office yet, but the words of Mayor-Elect Mike McGinn have already perked some citizens’ ears.

My ears are wide open,  Mayor McGinn believes pot should not only be legal, but also taxed. He says “We recognize that, you know, like alcohol, it’s something that should be regulated, not treated as a criminal activity. And I think that’s where the citizens of Seattle want us to go,” Oh! Oh! YES that is exactly what I want I have waited years for this. McGinn asked for the public’s help identifying the issues he should tackle as mayor. Topping the list was light rail expansion. The second slot went to legalizing pot. I remember a poll in the STRANGER. Now McGinn, as well as state leaders, are talking about it. McGinn says the drug should be legalized and also taxed to offset some of the city’s financial problems. THANK YOU MAYOR MIKE, THANK YOU STRANGER,  THANK YOU KOMO.  Listen to this McGinn slams  a home run saying  “I think if every elected official who ever smoked marijuana voted to legalize it, it’d probably be legalized in an instant,” he said;  how right on is that?.
State Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson, D-Seattle, is sponsoring a bill that would do just that. She says “Prohibition didn’t work for alcohol, and it’s not working for marijuana,” Dickerson says the state’s ineffective policies on marijuana are costing taxpayers money. She recognizes there will be opponents to her idea. But she thinks many people, including the mayor, are ready for change. She is right We have all known this for years but NOW we have legislators with guts enough to come out and lay the stash on the table. Only Legislators who support this well get my vote We need big time media help up here in Washington state to inform people and legislators that cannabis is less harmful then other things like HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. People who live in Washington state or in California should call write and E-mail state senators and reps and tell them they wont get your vote unless they  support marijuana legalization.  We have to come out and do this or we will still be looking over our shoulders every time we light up…

LEGISLATIVE HOT LINE  800-562-6000

This is last post until the first of the year when will I will be back to take on the attractions and distractions of life.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR…

The  words ” troops”, “surge” That’s Bull Shit we are putting thirty thousand more young men and women not Troops in harm’s way for what President Obama calls a “just war”.  The new boss just like the old boss”…

TIME TO HIT THE STREETS,  DARE TO STRUGGLE DARE TO WIN

…Or is the President being cagey; depending on protests to push a pull out?,  the time is right for marching in the streets  if we want to stop the war

THE GOOD THE INSANE AND THE UGLY

It took the shooting of four Lake Wood Washington police officers By Maurice Clemmons to finally force media attention  to the overall lack of focused attention on problems with law enforcement and mental health that often leave the criminal justice system frustrated when it comes to protecting society.
Mental health law  needs change; big time change. Clemmons is not a cold-blooded killer. He  was  mentally  ill  but still part of our society. Yes he knew what he was doing when he shot the four Lake Wood police officers, We can’t understand his reason, because Clemmons was mentally ill his emotions were Scrambled. How can we know what he felt except that he was very intent on killing cops so he took a gun and went where he knew cops would be and killed them. Did he have some dark crazy motive. How many times have any of you been angry enough to want to kill?. I have been I didn’t I am not crazy.
Police officers Are for the most part good people but they are just folks, workers like you and me. They are not Gods but they are the face of our society’s  criminal justice system. Did Clemmons Feel that society Had cut him a raw deal?, We will never know. But have you ever felt you have been badly treated by anyone a cop or society, ok the anger went away after you had a drink smoked a J chilled out because you are not nuts Clemmons Was mentally  ill we need to reexamine   how society and our justice system treats mental illness and insure this won’t ever happen again.
In the mean time we need to lose the lynch mob attitude toward the Clemmons family they knew after the mess the cops made of the Aunts home that they had to keep Clemmons out the cops hands if they wanted him to stay ALIVE!.
