KOMO4NEWS…Harsh criticism of the officers in the video that surfaced last week is deserved, but let’s not get involved with broad, sweeping condemnation of law enforcement in general.

Stillahippie says

We need broad sweeping change If we can’t trust the police what good are they to us.  Get rid of the flakes and punks they need to know if they step out of line they go down the road.  Applicants for police officer should be screened with psychological testing and back  ground checks and we need to make sure police academy instructors have no race or class hatred, police need to work with compassion. Hey I understand the job can be ugly but then every police officer chose the job. Every officer should look at his or her reasons for choosing that carrier and if it’s because of any kind of tough guy or cowboy image then forget about it you know, it’s not what we need. If America becomes a police state America is lost…

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame,
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
by Emma Lazarus, New York City, 1883

So reads the promise inscribed on the statue of liberty.

Both of my parents came from immigrant family’s each from different  hemispheres of the planet past the colossus through the golden door and across the land to the American west. The family’s came from Sweden and Italy for better lives, yearning to be free. thier hands helped build the city and neighborhood I grew up In. One hundred and twenty years since the family’s landed in America I am one of the elder’s, I have lived the life those emigrants worked so hard to get for me. I am a citizen so there are no laws that can require me to carry ID; “have paper’s”. No one will ask me for papers because I fit the profile of a average senior citizen, if I had brown or black skin I would have to Worry about being stopped. So what ever happened to “Give me your tired, your poor”’, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” Is America full ; no room at the inn. The State of Arizona is saying no room at the inn for “illegal aliens” passing a law that allows law enforcement to stop and detain anyone suspected of being an “illegal alien”. What is an illegal alien ? how do you tell if an alien is “illegal” any dark skin person with no papers. Come on that so stinks of racism, that can’t be a law in America because its UNAMERICAN!!!. Yes we need immigration reform but not a police state. I think anyone who wants to be an American should be allowed to become an American but then must take on the responsibility of being an American, race must not be a factor

Put a stop to waste and crime

How is a real change possible given that our so-called “representative” government is bought out?. If you use marijuana for recreation or medicine and you don’t demand re-legalization of cannabis use and sales to all adults you are a hypocrite!. Hey I know we have elected politicians that use pot regularly and cops that smoke a joint then see a person with a toker and frisk and bust that person. It’s all under the rug out of sight. Why can’t we all just stand up and demand re-legalization. Go to your party caucus. Ask candidates directly how they stand on  Re-legalization, if they favor prohibition tell them they wont get your vote. Write, E-mail or call your state and national party chairs tell them you wont vote for any candidates that don’t promise to support re-legalization. We don’t need  hypocrites like Brown in California or cannabiphobic’s like gov. Gregoire in Washington state. Washington’s legislature could have avoided the sales tax or cut issue’s that are going on in special session now if they had passed HB 1177 and its companion SB 5615  but they “snuffed” the bills that would have saved millions in law enforcement costs; instead they passed several law enforcement measures that added to the deficit.  So now we tax payers are stuck with cuts in eduction and human services or more sales taxes. I 1068 will leave re-legalization up to the Washington Voters And  legislation will be on California ballots this November.  Excellent but we need to take it farther we need to make shure we have a Cannabis friendly Representative government.

OUT LAW POT IS MUCH LESS STRESSFUL THEN TRYING TO WORK WITH MEDICAL MARIJUANA LAW

So now I hear all the robbers had medical marijuana recommendations, what  is going on here!. Pardon my paranoia but this kind of  smells like a political setup, if it’s not then it well have the same effect publicity wise. The cops will keep vamping on providers:  rip off thugs will find their way to legal growers, providers and patents by becoming patents. This is a flaw in the law that ruin’s medical Marijuana as a resource for those of us that need it. The high profit and fear of prosecution in the weed business  makes us a prime target for ripoff. I don’t want to shoot nobody I don’t want to get shot but I gotta do what I gotta do.  This whole medical marijuana thing is way more stressful than just buying it on the street from an outlaw provider. I can’t even find a reasonable and real Doctor to write me a recommendation and follow my case Like a Doctor should because the Doctors are afraid and don’t know whats going on. The legislature cant or wont do anything To fix the law till next year; the same with I 1068 and both are a big maybe, so we are all left to twist in the wind and deal with cops and robbers until then at the least. Support I 1068.

Marijuanna clones

A medical marijuana activist survived a shoot out with two men who broke in to his home at three thirty am Monday apparently  to steal marijuana clones he grows there one of the suspects lowered and fired a shot-gun at the 59-year-old grower Steve Sarich missing his head by a few inches Sarich returned fire wounding the robber this is one of several medical marijuana home invasion robbery’s occurring in western Washington this year. Mr Sarach who was wounded slightly Called king county sheriff’s who arrived twenty minuets latter hand cuffed and searched Mr Sarich and held him and his family out of the home while they obtained a search warrant. See Seattle times Tuesday march 16

I Guess I can can qualify as a Marijuana patent I have extreme nerve pain, I have glaucoma and I am depressed because I have these things…I know marijuana re-leaves  these ailments  better than prescription drugs, I know  because I have smoked weed for 50 years not regularly because its illegality makes it expensive difficult and very stressful to find. I do not have a medical marijuana authorization because buying pot illegally is far less stressful than trying to find a primary care doctor to write the authorization and then a legal provider to sell it to me. The law seems designed not to work. Thank you Sen. Kohl-Welles for all the hard work you have done but the legislature should have decriminalized marijuana this year. Then Mr Sarich would not have his home wrecked and the other provider would not be dead

I am sick of Resistance from senators bought off by the insurance and pharmaceutical industry’s. Resistance from teabaggers and other pawns who would rather not think for themselves. Get real people we need medical reform that includes a public option. People are dieing because they can’t get proper care every one has a right to good medical care but we won’t get it because there is cruel resistance, profit and greed before compassion; because we are bankrupting our country fighting two overseas wars where people are also dieing and the drug war. so we can’t afford to help our neediest sick and injured people. shame on the resisters shame on the politicians who think more of reelection then of what America needs, shame on the profiteers, shame on the simple-minded nut cases that put their desire to wreck  President Obama ahead of real patriotism.
